Creating Good Habits

I am your constant companion.
I am your greatest asset are your heaviest burden.
I will push you up to successor down to disappointment.
I am at your command.
Half the things you do just as well be turned over to me,
for I can do them quickly, correctly, and profitably.
I am easily managed, just be firm with me.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, though I work with the precision of a machine and the intelligence of the person.
You can run me for profit, or you can run me for ruining.
Show me how you want it done. Educate me. Train me.
Lead me. Reward me.
And I will then… Do it automatically.
I am your servant.
Who am I?
I am a habit.

We have both good and bad habits. People find it difficult to stop the bad habits and create a good habit. Habits can lead us either towards our goals away from our goals.

Habits are automatic. We have trained our subconscious mind in what habits we currently have. Now I can do a whole training, in fact I have, around how to create good habits.

In fact, that’s what I want you to get out of this post is shifting the mindset from trying to get rid of a bad habit to creating a good habit. Forget about trying to change or stop a bad habit. Start thinking about creating a good habit and don’t even concern yourself about stopping a bad habit.

With this simple mind shift to focus on creating a good habit and not trying to stop a bad one, you will find it much easier to create a new habit. This one simple mind shift is huge for a lot of people.

So choose a habit that you want to create because all you’re doing is replacing the bad habit with the good one that you just created. Don’t even think about the bad habit just focus on creating the good habit that will move you toward your goals.
